Our Beliefs
The Bible
We believe that the bible is the Word and complete revelation of God, and is, therefore, our only source of authority in matters of faith, doctrine, and practice. (Revelation 22:18-19) We likewise believe that each word and part of the bible is divinely inspired of the Holy Spirit of God as He enabled holy individuals to record it without error or omission. ( 1 Corinthians 2:13; II Timothy 3:16)
total depravity
We believe in the universal and total depravity of humankind; therefore, making regeneration through the Holy Spirit of God and faith in Jesus Christ essential. ( Isaiah 64:6, Psalm 51:5, Romans 3:9-20)
The church
We believe that the New Testament order of a Gospel-believing church is a body of baptized believers, organized, self-governing, and voluntarily associated together for the service of God. (Acts 2:42-47) We believe that Christ alone is the head of the church. (Ephesians 5:23) We believe in the Great Commission given by God to His followers to go into all the world and make disciples.(Matthew 28:19-20) We believe in the Great Commandment to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and mind and our neighbor as ourselves. (Matthew 22:37-40)
Jesus
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, that he is very God by whom and from whom all things have been created. ( John 1:1-3, Isaiah 9:6, Hebrews 1:1-8) We believe in the virgin birth of Christ and that the seed conceived in the virgin’s womb was of the Holy Spirit and is, therefore, God made manifest in the flesh. (Matthew 1:20-21, Luke 1:35) We believe in salvation by divine sacrifice; that the Son of God gave His life a ransom for many (Mark 10:45, I Timothy 2:6); that He bore our sins in His own body on the cross (I Peter 2:24); and that through the shedding of His blood purchased our redemption. ( Colossians 1: 14, 20) We believe in the bodily resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. ( Matthew 28:5,6, John 20:15-18 and 27-29) We also believe that He is seated at the right hand of God the Father as our high priest and advocate. (1 John 2:1, Romans 8:34)
Two eternal destinations
We believe in a literal, eternal Heaven with God for all those who believe in Jesus Christ as their savior. Those who have not received Jesus as their savior will experience eternal separation from God in Hell. Lastly, that it is God’s desire that no one should experience eternal Hell but rather to turn to Him for salvation.( John 14:1-6, I Peter 1:3-5, Revelation 20:11-15)
The Trinity
We believe in the one and only true God, who exists in three divine persons as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1, John 14:16-17, Acts 5:1-4, Matthew 28:19, I John 5:7-8)
Two ordinances
The first is of baptism and the total immersion of the believer in water. (Matthew 28:19-20, John 3:23) Baptism does not result in salvation, but is an outward, public expression of a believer’s relationship and obedience to Christ. We also believe in the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper as the commemoration of our Lord’s death until He comes. The bread and the cup are symbolic of Christ’s broken body and shed blood, and having no saving merit of their own. ( 1 Corinthians 11:23-30)
